• Initial Assessment: A quick skin check will ensure there is no active, raised acne or inflamed lesions that could be accidentally nicked by the blade.

• Hold Active Ingredients: Stop using chemical exfoliants (salicylic, glycolic, lactic acids) and prescription retinoids 3 to 5 days prior to your session.

• Waxing & Shaving: Avoid waxing, threading, or using hair removal creams on the facial area for 7 days before your treatment.

• Sun Exposure: Avoid sunbeds or getting a sunburn for at least 1 week before your appointment.

This treatment is not suitable for individuals with any of the following conditions:

• Active, cystic acne or pustular flare-ups on the face.

• Open wounds, severe active eczema, psoriasis, or bleeding disorders.

• Active cold sores/herpes simplex infections.

• Uncontrolled diabetes or conditions that severely delay skin healing.

• Current or recent use of Roaccutane/Isotretinoin within the last 6 months.

• Your skin may look a little pink and feel slightly sensitive for a short while after dermaplaning, which is completely normal.
• Wear a high factor sunscreen every day, since freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to the sun.
• Avoid direct sun and sunbeds.
• Give saunas, hot workouts and strong active ingredients such as retinol and acids a rest for a couple of days.
• Keep your skin well hydrated. Your therapist will talk you through aftercare at your appointment based on the treatment you have had.
