Chemical Skin Peel
Milton Keynes Beauty, Laser & Cosmetic Clinic

What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a resurfacing treatment used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin using an ingredient derived from different acids (milk/glycolic/almonds etc) that causes the dead skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off. It is a quick time procedure which can easily be done in half an hour (except TCA peel). The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Chemical peels are made of different acids in different percentages, to target individual skin concern, according to concentration and ph of the acid peel; it can treat most skin conditions.

Is it Painful?

A chemical peel exfoliates your upper layers of dead epidermal skin. When the peel is applied, it is liquid in consistency and can have a slight tingly sensation.

What Happens in the Treatment?

We have a detailed consultation of your skin then according to your skin concerns a peel would be decided. Before prescribing any peel you have to prepare the skin for 2-4 weeks according to Fitzpatrick skin colour, so that your skin is ready to take the peel and have good results. We usual start with a peel strength which is low in percentage, and which suits your skin condition and your Fitzpatrick skin colour.

Do I Need Many Treatments?

It all depends on your skin concern and the depth of the problem in your skin. But we recommend 4-6 sessions in a gap of 2 weeks.
